What's up everybody It's AJ with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna be checking out the Stromberg Carlson Wheel Stabilizer. Now what this is gonna do, is you can wedge that in between your tires, and it's gonna push out as you use the wrench to let it expand. It's gonna push on those tires, really limiting that front to back movement. So it's gonna work in tandem with the other objects on your camper, just to help stabilize everything when you're on the inside or the kiddos are running around on the inside. Just keep that front to back movement to a very minimum, if not at all.

Let's check it out. Something I want to point out right away though, is it is not meant to be used as a wheel chock. We suggest still using your existing wheel chocks just to keep the trailer in place. This is more meant for stabilization. Now it's time to put it to the test.

Now these are meant to be used in combination with the existing scissor lifts. So during the test, you're gonna make sure the lifts or stabilizers are down and in place. And now I'm gonna go inside and kind of walk around and see how much movement we get without these installed. All right, now that I'm inside the camper, I'm just kinda gonna walk around a little bit. Go from side to side.

And just go up here into the kitchen and walk around. There's definitely a little bit of movement, but not a whole lot. Seems like the stabilizer's working pretty good, but if I make some aggressive movements side to side, not a big deal. Front to back though, you can definitely feel it rolling a little bit forward and backwards, forward and backwards. So now I'm gonna walk around just a little bit in here, and just the normal walk around movement.

Not too much, just a little bit, I guess, I feel as I'm walking around. There's not so much side to side. That really, the front stabilizer is helping with that. I think it's the front to back movement is what we're gonna feel. So I kind of do an aggressive forward and backwards. You can definitely feel it going forward and back. You can see the blinds too, moving. So I am getting it to rock, but that's just being aggressive, being do it this way. So when I was inside moving it back and forth, you saw a lot of movement, probably close to the treads. You can see them going back and forth. A lot of tires kind of rolling forward and back. And that's exactly why we're gonna install this, to try and eliminate that. So what you do to install it, you just pick it up by the handle. Watch out because there are pinch points. So as it goes to expand or retract, you don't want your hand in the wrong spot. So you got this nice big handle with the warnings on there on where to put your hands. So we'll put it in there. You want to get it far enough in so it's making contact with the tire on all four points. So you kind of see if I do it wrong, let me try and do it wrong real quick. It's not really touching here at the bottom. So when you go to tighten it or expand it, it's not gonna hit all the same time. Then as we go in a little bit further, you can kind of feel it as you go up or down. Kind of find that sweet spot where it's gonna make contact on all the tires. Looks like we're right about there. Then come back with the included tool, and kind of can sit in there by itself because of the ratchet. You just put that on there, and make sure it's going the right way though. There you go. Once you get it right, it'll ratchet it as it slowly pushes out into the tire. Just keep an eye on it having it be too aggressive. You just want it to make contact on all four, and see it push just a little bit. I think we're about there. It's nice and in place. With the stabilizers in place, let's give it a test. I'm gonna walk around a little bit more this time. Again, I didn't feel a whole lot last time I was walking back and forth, but this is just kind of a test. Not really getting much out of it. So I'm not feeling anything. So let's try that aggressive test again, going forward and back. Not really getting a whole lot of movement. It really helped out. If you look at the blinds once more, there's a little bit of movement, but not as much as there was last time. And I'm doing the exact same thing. Hopefully you saw how well it worked, 'cause I could definitely feel it when I was going back and forth. I always like in the videos when we're doing something like this and it actually works as good as it's supposed to. 'Cause this really did. The best I can explain to you was the blinds. You can see the blinds move aggressively without that in place. With it in place, they barely moved. That's how it felt while I was doing it on the inside. But it's not doing it alone. Like we said earlier, it works in combination with other things underneath your camper, like your scissor lifts. We even have a MORryde cross brace system here installed. And that really helped with the side to side. But remember how I kept saying, side to side doesn't matter as much in here because of that cross brace doing its job. But that in combination with that made sure that there was barely any movement on the inside when I was walking around and even aggressively trying to get it to move. Now there is different versions of these wheel stabilizers out there from different manufacturers. They are a lot alike. Most of them have the same features. Almost all of them do of tighten them up here, the feet, and the contact points on the tires and how it pushes out. The one big difference for all of them though, is do they lock or not lock So the one we have here does not lock. Now there's an Ultra-Fab one that does lock. And how that works is you put a padlock up here where the cap comes up, and that is where you put your padlock and lock it up tight. And that's just helpful. Let's say you're leaving out in a parking spot for winter. You can lock it up. And it's just one more thing to keep people from messing with it when you're not around. They're gonna see that lock and just go on to the next one that doesn't have a lock most likely, and it just keeps your stuff in place. It's gonna be constructed of steel with a rust resistant coating. So you don't have to worry about the elements bothering you as fast. But we know as coatings work, they can start to peel off or come off over time. So just be mindful of that. Another thing would be they work with tire spacings from two inches all the way up to 17 inches. So keep that in mind with your tire spacing. Make sure you measure that before you order one of these, and make sure it's gonna work with your rig. And come with their own ratcheting tool, which I really liked that part. They could have easily not done this. So you'd have to have your own tools and use for it. I like that it's got a specific tool and you just have this whenever you need it. So you can put this in the basement door, put it in the toolbox. You know exactly what it's for. It's to set this up. Overall, I think it does its job really well. I think we showed that too. I could feel it while I was on the inside. You saw the movement difference of this being installed and working with everything else on your camper, just to keep it nice and level and keep that movement down when you're walking around, so you can enjoy your time.
